Data Quality, Security & Trust

How we protect panel integrity, respondent identity, and client data across every study

At Cralpk Research, data quality isn't an afterthought — it's built into every layer of how we run studies, from the first click on a survey link to the final delivered dataset. Every safeguard below exists to serve one goal: ensuring that the insights our clients receive reflect real people, giving honest answers, from the locations they claim to be in.

Geolocation Intelligence — Powered by MaxMind

We use MaxMind, an industry-standard IP intelligence and geolocation provider, to verify the geographic origin of every survey response.

  • Confirm that a respondent's IP address matches their declared country and region before a survey is included in the final dataset
  • Detect and flag traffic originating from VPNs, proxies, data centers, and known anonymization services
  • Screen out high-risk IP ranges associated with prior fraudulent or low-quality survey activity

This geolocation layer is one of the first checks a respondent passes through, ensuring sample delivered against a specific country or region requirement is genuinely sourced from that market.

Third-Party Fraud & Security Validation — Research Defender

Alongside our own checks, we integrate Research Defender, a dedicated third-party research security platform, to independently validate incoming traffic before it reaches a live survey.

  • Independent verification of respondent authenticity and traffic quality, separate from our own MaxMind and fingerprinting checks
  • Detection of bots, click-farms, and other automated or low-quality traffic sources
  • An additional, external checkpoint that reduces the risk of any single point of failure in our fraud-prevention stack

Unique Respondent Identification — Device Fingerprinting (FingerprintJS)

To prevent duplicate participation and panel fraud, we generate a unique device identifier (UUID) for every respondent using FingerprintJS.

  • Identify the same individual attempting to take a survey multiple times, even after clearing cookies
  • Detect coordinated or automated survey farming from a small number of devices
  • Maintain a persistent, privacy-respecting identity signal without storing personally identifiable information

Timezone & Geo-Coordinate Verification

As an additional layer of location security, we cross-check each respondent's device timezone against the latitude and longitude derived from their connection. Mismatches between stated location, IP geolocation, timezone, and coordinates are flagged for review or excluded.

This makes it significantly harder to spoof location using a VPN alone, since timezone and coordinate data must also be consistent with the claimed geography.

Our Own Panel — ProfitPiller.com

Beyond partner sample sources, Cralpk Research also draws on ProfitPiller, our own first-party panel of engaged, reward-earning respondents. Because we own and operate ProfitPiller end-to-end — as a web platform and companion Android app — we apply every safeguard on this page directly at the source, rather than relying on a third party to enforce it.

Every ProfitPiller respondent passes through the same layered verification as any other source in our network:

  • MaxMind geolocation checks to confirm genuine, in-market IP origin
  • Research Defender validation as an independent, external fraud checkpoint
  • A unique FingerprintJS device ID to prevent duplicate or repeat participation
  • Timezone and geo-coordinate cross-verification to catch location spoofing

The result is a first-party panel held to the same quality bar as our external sample partners — giving clients a consistent, verifiable standard of data integrity whether a response comes from ProfitPiller or from our broader partner network.

A Multi-Layered Approach

No single check is foolproof on its own — that's why we combine geolocation intelligence, third-party fraud validation, device fingerprinting, and timezone/coordinate verification into a layered system, so a respondent must pass multiple independent checks before their response is counted. Together, these measures work to:

  • Reduce duplicate and bot-driven responses in our panel
  • Ensure geographic sample quotas are genuinely met
  • Protect the integrity of every dataset we deliver to clients
  • Safeguard respondent trust by keeping our panel free of bad actors

Our Commitment

We continually review and strengthen these systems as new fraud patterns emerge. Data quality and security aren't static checkboxes for us — they're an ongoing discipline that underpins every project we deliver.
